Vacuum and UHV system viewport shutter mechanisms.

The Viewport Shutters are 90° shutter swing type, suitable for mounting behind viewports. They are mounted on double sided flanges and fit between the viewport and the mounting port with 2 annealed copper gaskets. Rotary actuation is supplied by our Rotary Feedthrough 90 (included). The standard unit includes a position lock.

Application
Some operations inside a vacuum system can cause harm or damage to a viewport. Evapouration of metals in the UHV system can for example cause the viewport surface to become quickly coated, resulting in a mirror reflective surface. The viewport would then need to be removed and cleaned before it could be re-used. To overcome this problem we offer a range of viewport shutters.
